ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• To provide the link between the Agency and membership

• Adopt written governing policies

• Quality assurance monitoring of staff performance in achieving the results defined in policies and not exceeding the constraints of the Executive Director’s limitations through monitoring and evaluation of the Executive Director

• Develop statements of principles and positions related to public policy which represent the interests of communities

• Ensure policy development to protect the rights of MLCN children

• Promote personal and community responsibility for their physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and well-being and security of MLCN children

• Create policies and procedures to protect MLCN children from circumstances that may damage their physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental well-being

• Encourage and support the healing and wellness of individuals, families and both communities

• Create programs and services to ensure that MLCN children maintain their language, cultural and traditional values.


QUALIFICATION:

• Be a member of the Montreal Lake Cree Nation and reside in or near the community of Montreal Lake Reserve

• Possess a general knowledge and understanding of Child and Family Services

• Strong commitment to healthy personal wellness

• Ability to cope and make decisions under stressful circumstances

• Ability to promote and practice teamwork with the MLCFA Board of Directors
